For this project, I wanted to tackle a lounge chair. Simplifying it’s design into two parts.
The finish on the steel frame uses patina and in order to get an even finish, three people had to apply the patina at the same time so the chemical reaction could happen evenly. What makes this design so unique is how the seat and the frame are not attached to each other so the seat can be removed for easy storage or transport.
Every piece of the seat was band sawed which should have been cut on a CNC to speed up the process and allow for an overall more even uniform look. The steel frames first design was structurally flawed so two more steel tubes where added to the front of the chair for more support.
